PETALING JAYA:
Police are looking for two drivers who allegedly refused to give way to an ambulance along KM 25 in Jalan Johor Bahru-Air Hitam near Kulai, Johor, recently.

Kulai police chief Tan Seng Lee said a video of the incident had gone viral. The drivers of both vehicles are believed to be Malaysians, Harian Metro reported.

“The ambulance was rushing a patient to Hospital Sultan Aminah in Johor Bahru,” Tan was quoted as saying.

Investigations are ongoing under Rule 9(2) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959, which stipulates that drivers must give way to emergency vehicles with their siren lights on.

The video showed a Proton Exora and Honda City refusing to give way to the ambulance. Instead, the two vehicles turned on their hazard lights to take advantage of the passage, allegedly to beat the jam.
