PETALING JAYA:
Police are investigating a man suspected of using fake “Dato Seri” and “Dr” titles and providing Ayurvedic treatments in Puchong, Selangor.

In a statement, Serdang police chief AA Anbalagan said the suspect was believed to be providing Ayurvedic treatment without any licence or certification from the health ministry or other authorities.

He said the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) raided the man’s business premises in Bandar Puchong Jaya yesterday and confirmed that the establishment does not hold a valid licence from the council to operate a beauty and wellness centre.

“MBSJ has taken action by issuing a notice and shutting down the premises,” he said.

Anbalagan said police are investigating the case under Section 3 of the Offences Relating To Awards Act 2017 for using an unrecognised award.

He urged the public to refrain from speculating or making comments that could jeopardise the investigation.
