PETALING JAYA:
A 38-year-old man has been arrested by police for beating up a senior executive of a housing company because he was dissatisfied with repairs done to his new house.

Kluang police chief Bahrin Noh said the executive sustained injuries to the head as well as a broken finger from the assault last Friday, Berita Harian reported.

Bahrin said the man, said to be a contractor, had bought the house at Meridian @ Taman Kluang Barat and had complained to the developer about defects at the property.

A senior executive of the company went to the house at 3.30pm on Friday to explain the repairs that had been carried out in response to the buyer’s complaint.

The buyer was, however, dissatisfied with the repair works, and berated the victim before kicking him in the back and grabbing his bag.

The man hit the victim repeatedly using the bag, which contained a handphone, and punched him in the chest.

“The suspect was arrested at the Kluang police headquarters today and a remand application will be made tomorrow,” said Bahrin.

The incident is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt, punishable by up to seven years in jail and a fine, if convicted.
