Pedestrian killed while taking photos of car crash

The victim, 68, was taking photos of an earlier crash when a Perodua Alza lost control and struck him.

JOHOR BAHRU:
A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car while he was taking photos of an accident on the Sultan Iskandar Highway here this morning.

Police said the man, 68, died in hospital with severe head injuries.

Johor Bahru Utara police chief MS Balveer Singh said the man was taking photos of a Honda CRV that had skidded before colliding with a concrete divider at about 6.40am.

An oncoming Perodua Alza lost control when trying to avoid the crashed vehicle and struck the victim, Balveer said. The driver of the Perodua Alza, a 40-year-old Malaysian, sustained injuries to his head, face, left hand, and right leg, he said in a statement.
