PETALING JAYA:
Graphic artist and activist Fahmi Reza has been remanded until tomorrow to assist a police investigation into one of his satirical works.

Magistrate Wan Farrah Farriza Wan Ghazali issued the order at the Kota Kinabalu magistrates’ court today.

Bernama reported Fahmi’s lawyers Nurul Rafeeqa Afdul Mutolip and Sherzali Herza Asli as confirming the matter when contacted.

State police commissioner Jauteh Dikun had earlier confirmed the arrest of Fahmi in Penampang, Sabah, when contacted by FMT.

Jauteh said Fahmi is being investigated under the Sedition Act 1948.

Prior to his arrest, Fahmi said in a post on X that he was on his way to the Kota Kinabalu police headquarters to be questioned over his latest graphic, which had been turned into a mural in Kota Kinabalu.

He said he is being investigated for sedition, improper use of network facilities and intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.
