Liew was ousted from the post, which she had occupied since 2017, on Dec 1 after losing by three votes to Upko president Ewon Benedick in the Sabah PH elections.
Last night, however, she was reported as saying that discussions were being held on her possible return as the Sabah PH chairman, adding that talks were held with PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and members of the state leadership council.
Tonight, Sabah PH Youth leaders said the component parties must respect the “democratic process”, The Borneo Post reported.
They said Ewon’s selection as Sabah PH chairman was based on the coalition’s constitution.
“Sabah PH Youth, comprising Upko, DAP and Amanah, fully supports Ewon as the new chairman,” Sabah PH Youth chief Felix J Saang, Sabah DAP Youth chief Vivian Wong and Sabah Amanah Youth chief Salleh Jatil were quoted as saying.
They said there was a need to respect the component parties to ensure harmony is not disrupted.
Felix, Wong and Salleh said the strength of Sabah PH lay in the established political cooperation.
They said the PH constitution must be understood and accepted to allow the coalition to address more pressing and important issues in Sabah.
“It is better for the component parties to strengthen their respective machinery to face the state election which can be held at any time within the next 10 months,” they said.
Liew had previously said she would focus on PKR’s party polls and the coming state election following her ouster, adding that it was time to move on.
She also said she had no problem if the people “think the new (PH) management can bring us to bigger victory”.
