Kelantan police chief Yusoff Mamat said the incident involved a 15-year-old girl and a 23-year-old suspect, Sinar Harian reported.
He said the alleged rape took place shortly after midnight on Dec 2.
According to Yusoff, the suspect, who is a construction worker, is alleged to have raped the girl in a storeroom at the school which was used as a temporary relief shelter for flood victims.

“The victim and suspect are believed to have first met at the shelter. The incident was discovered by the girl’s brother, after which the family made a police report,” he told reporters at the Kota Bharu police headquarters yesterday.
Yusoff said the suspect was arrested on Dec 6 and remanded for six days to assist in the investigation.
“On Dec 12, the suspect was brought to the Kota Bharu sessions court on a charge of rape under Section 376 of the Penal Code and pleaded not guilty,” he said.
The court set re-mention of the case on Jan 14, and no bail was offered.
He said that besides the rape case, six other criminal incidents were reported during the recent floods in Kelantan, including four burglaries, one car theft and one molest case.
