PETALING JAYA:
A man being sought by police for allegedly confining and sodomising a 14-year-old boy at an apartment in Bukit Kemuning, Shah Alam, has a criminal record involving the rape, robbery and wrongful confinement of a woman about 18 years ago.

Shah Alam police chief Ramsay Embol said the suspect had been convicted of the offences and jailed in 2008.

“The suspect previously served time in prison for the offences,” Bernama reported him as saying today.

In the incident on Monday, the suspect allegedly approached the victim to offer a mobile data package before luring him to the apartment, where he bound the victim’s hand and foot and assaulted him.

The victim managed to free himself when left alone in the apartment, and shouted for help through a bedroom window.

Nearby residents rescued him and contacted the police.

Police are investigating the case under Section 342 of the Penal Code for wrongful confinement, Section 377C for carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent, and Section 323 for voluntarily causing hurt.
