PETALING JAYA:
PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh says anyone wishing to join the party, including investment, trade and industry minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz, must follow the standard procedures.

Earlier today, FMT reported that Tengku Zafrul, an Umno Supreme Council member, is negotiating a move to PKR, with a decision expected within the next two days.

Fuziah told FMT she had no information on the matter and stressed that anyone wishing to join PKR must apply online.

“There are no special pathways … if anyone intends to join, we ask them to follow the normal procedure (and apply online),” she said.

She also said the party’s leadership has yet to receive formal updates regarding Tengku Zafrul’s application.

According to her, membership applications must be approved by PKR’s central leadership council, and the last time it approved new members was during a Nov 30 meeting.

Tengku Zafrul, who is the Kota Raja Umno chief, quit his position as Selangor Umno treasurer in March.
