Anwar said government-linked companies like Permodalan Nasional Bhd, Petronas and Pharmaniaga Bhd had already channelled RM10 million in aid.
“Today, I will receive flood aid contributions worth over RM35 million from renowned private companies,” he said when tabling the Supply Bill 2025 in the Dewan Negara.
On Monday, Anwar had urged private companies to join efforts to assist flood victims across the country through funding and volunteer support.
Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said this would allow large corporations to witness firsthand the struggles of people on the ground.
The prime minister also announced an additional RM25 million each to Kelantan and Terengganu in light of the floods, which left more than 150,000 people displaced from their homes in the middle of the week.
The situation has since improved with 63,206 flood evacuees in seven states as of 11.45am.
