PETALING JAYA:
There was no shootout with criminals during a car chase in Ampang Jaya last night, police said today.

Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail issued a statement to clarify the matter following social media reports, Bernama reported.

He said a police mobile patrol vehicle was involved in pursuit of a car suspected of being linked to criminal activities at around 10pm in Ampang Jaya.

“The car was successfully intercepted but no shots were fired,” he said.

He did not give details of any arrests made.

Yesterday, a TikTok user uploaded a video claiming shots were fired during the police chase.

The post, which was later deleted, alleged that six shots were fired but the two suspects escaped.
