PETALING JAYA:
Police arrested a 44-year-old man at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur yesterday for attempting to sell a RM64,000 Rolex watch stolen from a branded goods store in Subang Jaya last week.

Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the suspect posed as a customer at a store in SS16 before stealing the luxury watch.

Police said the suspect approached an employee while she was opening the store at 10.40am and stole the watch while she was distracted on the phone, fleeing the scene immediately.

“An investigation was launched after the employee reported the missing watch,” he was quoted as saying in a Sinar Harian report.

Wan Azlan said the suspect was arrested at about 4.15pm on Friday while trying to sell the watch for RM25,000 at another branded goods shop in the city.

He said the suspect, who has two convictions for criminal cases, will be brought to the Shah Alam magistrates’ court later today to be remanded.
