PETALING JAYA:
Police arrested seven suspects, including two women, for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old girl from Klang last week.

Klang Selatan police chief Cha Hoong Fong said the victim’s father filed a report after his daughter left home at 4pm on Nov 18 but did not return, reported Sinar Harian.

He said that when the father tried to call his daughter’s phone, it was answered with a prerecorded voice message asking him to collect her in Subang.

“The father went to the location sent by the suspects but his daughter was nowhere to be found.

“He later received a WhatsApp message saying that his daughter would be released somewhere in Kuala Lumpur,” Cha said in a statement.

He said that police, acting on information, raided a condominium in I-City, Shah Alam, at 11am and rescued the victim.

The police also arrested three male suspects and two female suspects, aged between 15 and 19, at the same location.

Further arrests on the remaining suspects, two males aged 16 and 18, were made on Nov 19 at 1.10am near Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur.

Cha said an investigation paper had been opened under Section 363 of the Penal Code for kidnapping.

He also said four of the suspects that were under 18 were remanded for a day, while the others were remanded for four days until Nov 22.

He urged anyone with information about the case to come forward and assist in the investigation by contacting the nearest police station or the Klang Selatan police headquarters at 03-33762222.
