Norza served as BAM president from 2017 until his resignation on Aug 24.
The announcement was made by BAM acting president V Subramaniam at a press conference following a BAM council meeting at the Akademi Badminton Malaysia in Bukit Kiara today.
“This is in accordance with our constitution and was unanimously agreed upon by the management and the council,” he said.
Last December, Norza announced his plans to relinquish the post and even named investment, trade and industry minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz as his preferred successor.
However, after being persuaded by youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh, he agreed to stay on until after the Paris Olympics.
