Yusoff, who was charged with drug trafficking in September, was also charged with being in possession of imitation pistols last month.
His lawyer, Rafique Rashid Ali, said Yusoff had lodged a police report in September claiming that he had been framed, and that he had also provided a list of names of people allegedly involved in setting him up.
“It has been almost two months, but there has been no follow-up action from the police,” he said at a press conference here.
“Until today, they only recorded Yusoff’s statement. We appeal to the police to update us on the status of the investigation.
“Have they called those on the list to have their statements taken?” he asked, adding that authorities should not be selective in their investigations.
The names on the list were not revealed to the media.
Yusoff was charged in the Kuala Lumpur magistrates’ court on Sept 12 with trafficking in 305g of cannabis under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, but no plea was recorded as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
He was accused of trafficking in the drugs at a car park in front of the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters at 10.15am on Sept 6.
The magistrates’ court today ordered the case to be transferred to the High Court.
On Oct 9, Yusoff was charged under Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960 with possession of imitation pistols at a roadside near a condominium in Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, at 9.25am on Sept 6.
Yusoff is currently in Sungai Buloh prison awaiting trial as there is no bail for drug trafficking cases.
