Manjung police chief Hasbullah Abd Rahman said the woman, a 38-year-old foreigner, was nabbed after a report was filed on the fire at 2.50am yesterday, Harian Metro reported.
In his report, the complainant, 42, said his house was about 90% destroyed, while his two cars and a motorcycle also went up in flames.
Hasbullah said the fire started at the garage of the complainant’s home before it spread to two houses next door.
He added that a motorcycle at one of the neighbours’ house was also destroyed, but there were no casualties reported.
“CCTV footage showed a man carrying two containers that were believed to contain flammable liquid, heading to the complainant’s house.
“The suspect then fled after the fire began. The case is being probed under Section 436 of the Penal Code for committing mischief by fire,” he said.
