
He said the dinner was “a great honour for Malaysia” because the dinner for a prime minister’s official visit would usually be hosted by his counterpart, Chinese prime minister Li Qiang.
“For a head of state to host the head of government is indeed an honour,” Norman told reporters here.
Anwar is on a four-day working visit to China at the invitation of his counterpart to attend the China International Import Expo. He is expected to arrive in Shanghai tonight and will speak at the expo.
Anwar leaves for Beijing on Nov 6 and is expected to pay a courtesy call on Xi in the Chinese capital. The trip is Anwar’s third visit to China since taking office two years ago.
