SHAH ALAM:
Firemen saved three members of a family trapped in a blaze on the second floor of an apartment building at Taman Sentosa, Klang, early today.

Selangor fire and rescue department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said they received an emergency call just before 3am and dispatched 15 personnel from the Andalas station to the scene.

On arrival, the firemen learnt that the three family members, aged eight to their 30s, were trapped inside a room.

The trio, including a young girl, were rescued and given emergency assistance for breathing difficulties due to thick smoke, before being handed over to health personnel, he said in a statement.

The cause of the fire, which damaged about 20% of the premises, has yet to be determined.
