Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said the investigation is focussing on allegations that the children were shown militant-themed videos.
“While I haven’t discussed this issue before, the investigation is now heading in that direction (screening of militant videos),” he said when contacted by Bernama.
“It is indeed true that these children were shown videos related to their leader, Abuya, during their time at the welfare home.”
Leaflets and books promoting Al-Arqam founder Ashaari Muhammad’s (Abuya) teachings were uncovered during recent raids on GISBH premises.
Investigations also revealed that GISBH members were practicing the Aurad Muhammadiah, a meditation linked to the Al-Arqam religious group, which was banned in 1994 for its deviant teachings.
GISBH made headlines last month when police raided welfare homes that authorities linked to the company and rescued 402 children, some of whom were sodomised and coached to sexually assault others.
GISBH previously said it had discarded its former image as Al-Arqam’s business wing and is currently positioned as a multinational company.
