Syed Mokhtar’s firm sells its stake in Media Prima

In a stock market filing, Media Prima said Aurora Mulia Sdn Bhd had ceased to be a substantial shareholder.

According to Media Prima’s 2023 annual report, Aurora Mulia holds a 31.9% stake in the company.
KUALA LUMPUR:
Aurora Mulia Sdn Bhd, a company linked to tycoon Syed Mokhtar Albukhary, has disposed of 353.81 million shares in Media Prima Bhd, ceasing to be a substantial shareholder in the company.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Media Prima stated that the deemed interest pursuant to Section 8(4) of the Companies Act 2016 has ceased, indicating a significant update regarding the company’s compliance with corporate governance regulations.

According to the company’s Annual Report 2023, Aurora Mulia holds 31.9% or 353.81 million shares in Media Prima, which owns major newspapers, commercial television and radio stations.
