PETALING JAYA:
A woman with disabilities, believed to have been abducted while outside her house exercising, was found tied up in a foreign worker’s dormitory room at Taman Tasik Utama in Ayer Keroh, Melaka on Tuesday.

Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said the 22-year-old was rescued by her mother and neighbours who carried out a concerted search at about 7.30pm, Bernama reported.

“The victim was said to have been behind the house alone when she was approached by two Bangladeshi male suspects aged 20 and 36, who took her to the hostel and locked her up.

“The victim’s disappearance was noticed by her family at about 7pm when she did not return home. However, she was found after 30 minutes of searching,” he said in a statement here.

Patit said the victim was found with her hands and feet bound with mobile phone charger cords and she had also suffered an injury to her head.

“The victim claimed that one of the suspects hit her head with a hammer causing her to faint.

“An investigation of the scene found no traces of blood, but police found an iron hammer and a cut phone charger cord in the room,” he said.

According to Patit, there was no closed-circuit tv (CCTV) camera system in the area, or any witness to the incident.

He said two foreign suspects were arrested in Batu Berendam yesterday and remanded for four days from today to assist an investigation under Sections 324 and 342 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with a dangerous weapon and wrongful confinement.
