IPOH:
The body of an infant was found buried in cement in the porch of a house in Taman Sri Rokam, Jalan Pasar, here.

Ipoh police chief Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said in a statement that according to a pathology expert at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, the baby girl was believed to have been delivered at seven months of pregnancy.

“The post-mortem examination will be conducted tomorrow,” he said, adding that no injuries were found on the body.

Abang Zainal also said police were tracking down an Indonesian woman believed to have been the tenant of the house for the past three years. She was last seen about a month ago.

He said the house owner, who lives nearby, told the police that the woman was pregnant when he went to collect the monthly rental.

Abang Zainal said the new tenant, a 37-year-old Indonesian man, discovered the body wrapped in a sarong at around noon today while carrying out some renovation work.
