
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the incident, which was captured on video, occurred at about 7pm, Bernama reported.
“The man, believed to be from Africa, was a suspect in several robberies,” he was quoted as saying.
In a 52-second video currently making the rounds on social media, a black MPV was seen reversing into two other vehicles as shouts were heard.
Several men, wearing what seemed to be balaclavas, were heard shouting for the others to take cover, before four shots were fired hitting the windshield of a car.
Following the incident, several social media users expressed concern and noted that there had been several cases of murder, kidnap and rape reported recently.
Last year, a 32-year-old man, who was previously convicted for theft and robbery, was shot dead at a mobile phone accessory shop in Bandar Sunway.
It was reported that three men of unknown nationality entered the premises, and two of them opened fire at the victim.
