Surau knife attack suspect to be charged on Monday

A salesgirl, aged 26, and a headmistress, 52, were injured in the attack in the toilet of a Kelana Jaya surau last week.

KUALA LUMPUR:
A 46-year-old man will be charged on Monday over a knife attack on a salesgirl and a headmistress in the toilet of a Kelana Jaya surau last Friday.

Petaling Jaya police chief Shahrulnizam Jaafar said the man will be charged with attempted murder.

The 26-year-old salesgirl sustained injuries to her head and abdomen, while the 52-year-old headmistress suffered wounds to her left arm and hand in the attack which took place at 1.30pm.

The man was arrested last Tuesday at a house in Kajang, Selangor, before being remanded for seven days.
