PETALING JAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been warded at the National Heart Institute (IJN) since Monday.
The two-time prime minister who recently turned 99 was admitted for coughing, his spokesman Sufi Yusoff was reported as saying by Bloomberg.
Mahathir has been in and out of hospital over the past few years. He also has a history of heart problems, having undergone bypass surgeries in 1989 and 2007.
He was last warded at IJN in January this year, to receive treatment for an infection. He was discharged in March.
