KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed receiving a report from a woman claiming that she was assaulted by her actor boyfriend.
Petaling Jaya police chief Shahrulnizam Ja’afar said the woman, aged 25, filed the report at 6.55pm yesterday.
He said the woman claimed the 37-year-old actor punched her in the left eye and body at 3.40am yesterday.
“A preliminary investigation found that the victim went out with her sister before being contacted and scolded by the suspect.
“The woman met her boyfriend at Ara Damansara, where the suspect is said to have beaten her in his car.
“They had been in a relationship for six months,” he said in a statement today.
Shahrulnizam said police would summon the actor for his statement to be recorded and to assist in the investigation under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
