Form 1 student dies after fall from school’s 5th floor

Kajang police have set up a special unit to investigate the case, and eight have been summoned to make their statements.

PETALING JAYA:
A 13-year-old schoolboy has died in hospital from serious injuries sustained from a fall from the fifth floor of his school in Kajang.

In a statement tonight, Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said the boy is believed to have fallen from the fifth floor of the school yesterday, based on CCTV footage. Earlier reports had said he fell from the third floor.

He said the boy was pronounced dead at 2.30am today.

“We have set up a special investigation unit to further investigate the case, with eight witnesses summoned to give their statements. The investigation for this sudden death case is being conducted under the Child Act for neglect,” he said.
