Sinar Harian reported that Johor police have issued an invitation to the media to cover the case at the Johor Bahru sessions court tomorrow morning.
However, police did not reveal the charges the family members, aged between 19 and 62, would face.
On May 17, the 21-year-old suspect stormed into the police station armed with a gun and a parang and killed two constables, Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar, 22, and Syafiq Ahmad Said, 24.
Another policeman was injured in the 2.45am incident.
The assailant, who was shot and killed at the scene, was previously suspected by police of being a member of Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), but home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail had denied the claim.
JI co-founder Abu Bakar Bashir also denied any links with the attack, which he strongly condemned.
Apart from the suspect’s five family members, two students who were present at the police station shortly before the incident were arrested to assist in the investigation into the attack.
The two students were released while the five family members were detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) after their remand period ended.
