Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said the 42-year-old assistant superintendent of police, who was attached to the state police headquarters’ criminal investigation department, was believed to have accidentally fallen from the eighth floor of a building.
Shazeli said the post-mortem had been completed and the deceased, who leaves behind two children, had been laid to rest in Kuantan, Pahang.
“As far as we know, at this stage, we believe it was an accident,” he told a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters here today.
“There are no elements of criminal involvement. That is all I have to say regarding the incident.”
He also declined to comment on speculation circulating on social media, saying action may be taken over false or defamatory claims about the deceased officer or his family.
