
Minister Nga Kor Ming, in a statement, hoped this would help deliver correct information on government policies more effectively.
He said the information will be delivered in a way that is easily understood by the public.
“Social media plays an important role in information delivery.
“Short videos, live broadcasts and various online platforms can be used to ensure the people stand firm in support of the government’s aspirations,” he said.
Last week, communications minister Fahmi Fadzil said his ministry would set up a special task force to curb the spread of fake news on social media ahead of the Sungai Bakap by-election.
Fahmi said this task force would monitor social media platforms to address “irresponsible statements” made during the election campaign.
