PETALING JAYA:
Police probing the death of autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin have summoned three people, including the six-year-old’s babysitter, to help in the investigation.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the trio gave their statements at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters today.

“Aside from the babysitter, the other two who had their statements recorded were the babysitter’s family members,” he told FMT.

Hussein added that several more witnesses may be summoned to assist in the investigation.

Zayn was reported missing on Dec 5 last year before his body was found a day later about 200m from his home in Damansara Damai.

It was previously reported that the autopsy revealed signs of self-defence wounds, while the cause of death was from injuries to the neck believed to be caused by strangulation. The case is being probed for murder.

Last Friday, police arrested Zayn’s parents before placing them under a remand order until June 7.

In January, Bukit Aman criminal investigation department director Shuhaily Zain said police had recorded the statements of more than 200 people in connection with the case.
