PETALING JAYA:
Police today urged a motorcyclist who allegedly suffered a chin injury due to a thread stretched across the road on the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Expressway (SUKE) to lodge a report.

Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail said, based on a post on social media, the incident happened on the SUKE Highway after the Taman Kosas exit heading towards the Bukit Teratai toll.

“The police have not received any report related to the incident. Therefore, we request the victim to come forward and file a report at the nearest police station,” he said in a statement.

He urged members of the public who witnessed the incident to contact the Ampang Jaya police headquarters.

“At the same time, the police will conduct preliminary investigations and will seek a meeting with the SUKE highway operators for further action,” Azam added.

Earlier, a netizen posted on social media that his chin was sliced yesterday at about 6.30pm due to a thread that was stretched across the highway.

Lembah Jaya assemblyman Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, better known as Altimet, shared the posting and said he would follow up on the matter with the Ampang Jaya police.

In a statement, SUKE urged the victim to file an official report with the authorities and called on those with information about the incident to contact the Ampang Jaya police.

The highway operator also stated that it will increase its patrols along the expressway, with any kite flying or other hazardous activities to be promptly reported to the police.

“We will also work closely with local residents’ associations to enhance safety measures and prevent such incidents,” it said.

“We would like to emphasise that the safety of our users and neighbouring residents is of paramount importance to us.”
