PKR’s enemies have caught up with use of alternative media, says Rafizi

The PKR deputy president says opposition parties now use PKR’s ‘strengths’ to attack it.

PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli announced two strategies, Pop25 and Kemas16, to ensure the party’s victory in the next general election.
SHAH ALAM:
Opposition parties have caught up with PKR in the use of alternative media and demonstrations, says PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli.

“PKR was one of the first parties to use Facebook as a platform for ceramahs as early as 2010. Demonstrations were also one of the party’s strengths.

“Now, we see our skills being copied to attack us,” he said at PKR’s 25th anniversary special convention at the Ideal Convention Centre here.

Rafizi also announced the launch of two new party strategies – Pop25 and Kemas16 – to empower the movement and prepare for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to keep his post after the 16th general election (GE16).

He said these were aimed at ensuring the party’s victory in the next general election.

Pop25 will cover the party’s empowerment in conjunction with its 25th anniversary while Kemas16 deals with the party’s plans for GE16.

“These two strategies aim to strengthen the grassroots from the bottom up and create new strength so we can take the lead in facing the coming general election,” he said.

Rafizi said the POP25 programme was expected to increase the number of party and division members.

He was targeting a 20% increase in party members every year in the main divisions and an average of 10% at the national level.

Rafizi said the party hoped to reach out to 80% of the fence-sitters through the party’s “phone bank” by the end of 2025.
