KUALA LUMPUR:
The 14-year-old daughter of Lahad Datu police chief Dzulbaharin Ismail was found dead in a pool of blood at their home in Taman Tabanak, Lahad Datu, today.

Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain, when contacted by Bernama, confirmed the incident and said that further investigations were being carried out.

“The police are still investigating how the incident could have occurred. The victim’s 16-year-old sister, who just got back from school, found her in a room in the house.

“The victim’s father was in Kinabatangan to handle relocation matters as he was recently promoted (to be Lahad Datu police chief),” Razarudin said.

Dzulbaharin was appointed Lahad Datu police chief on April 1.

Razarudin said a post-mortem would be carried out at 9am tomorrow, adding that police were recording statements from witnesses.

“The public is advised not to make any speculation until the investigation is completed,” he said.
