Bernama reported Onn Hafiz as urging the operator to take proactive action and improve service quality.
Onn Hafiz also said the problem had affected Johoreans during Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“The state government expresses its regret over complaints of water supply disruptions during the Aidifitri celebration,” he said in a post on his Facebook page.
Onn Hafiz said the disruptions had occurred in spite of Ranhill SAJ’s top management promising to ensure no disruptions and rationing during the festive season.
He said the complaints received had raised questions about the operator’s ability to deal with the problem.
Some 300 residents in Kampung Sri Muar and Kampung Agas, both in the Bukit Permai state constituency, had recently experienced water supply disruptions.
Bukit Permai assemblyman Jafni Shukor said the 300 were among more than 1,000 residents, including in Gugusan Murni Jaya, Felda Bukit Permai and the surrounding areas, who experienced water supply disruptions.
Jafni, the state housing and local government committee chairman, said water supply cuts had been happening in the affected areas for the past 10 years, usually becoming more critical during festive seasons.
