Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu is also demanding that the Jelutong MP retract his statement against him.
According to Zamri, several police reports were lodged against him in 2021 after he was alleged by several individuals to have insulted Lord Shiva in a video uploaded on Facebook and YouTube.
Zamri said he was remanded for four days following the police reports.
“Investigations have concluded and (the authorities decided) that no further action would be taken against me.
“However, certain individuals have filed a judicial review, civil lawsuits as well as private prosecution against the attorney-general over the matter,” he said at a press conference, adding that all the cases had been dismissed by the Court of Appeal last year.
However, he said, Rayer repeated the claims recently in the Dewan Rakyat when he asked home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail if action would be taken against him for insulting Hindus.
“I will not hesitate to take action against others who repeat similar claims,” he said.
Lawyer Haniff Khatri Abdulla said the letter of demand was sent to Rayer’s law firm this morning.
“We are giving him 14 days to apologise and retract the statement,” he said.
