Bernama reported Amirudin as saying that the data would include information about the recipients of state government aid programmes, including Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor, Selangor Mental Sihat, Insentif MamaKerja, and the free health screening initiative.
“The state government believes that after this, more data on aid recipients in Selangor can be shared with Padu, which will indirectly help the federal government formulate or implement national policies,” he said.
He said this after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Padu, represented by Chief Statistician Uzir Mahidin, and Selangkah at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah building.
Amirudin said the Selangkah app, which is owned by government subsidiary Selangkah Ventures Sdn Bhd, has approximately 3.87 million active users including those who do not receive subsidies or assistance from the Selangor government.
He said the transfer and cross-checking of data between Selangkah and Padu would likely be done by April 19.
Of Padu’s take-up target of 4.24 million people in Selangor, 1.89 million or 44.5% have updated their information in the system, he added.
Meanwhile, Uzir said Selangor was the first state to sign a data-sharing MoU.
“Cooperation (on data sharing) is ongoing with all states via the government-to-government method, and does not involve the signing of an MoU like today,” he said.
