SEREMBAN: A policeman riding his motorcycle to work died after being hit by a trailer that lost control on Jalan Bahau-Kemayan here today.
Corporal Nadzri Ibrahim, 38, died at the scene.
Jempol police chief Hoo Chang Hook said Nadzri, from Jempol police headquarters, was on his way to work from Bahau when the 29-year-old driver of the trailer lost control, swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed into the motorcycle at about 1pm.
“Nadzri suffered severe injuries and died at the scene, while the driver of the trailer was not injured,” he said in a statement today.
Hoo said the driver has been detained on suspicion of causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. Police would apply for a remand order tomorrow.
