PETALING JAYA:
An eatery operator has been arrested by police on suspicion of offering up to RM100 to engage in indecent acts with six young boys since September.

The 57-year-old suspect, who is married, was apprehended by a team from the Jasin police headquarters at about 9pm last night at his home in Simpang Bekoh near Jasin, Melaka.

According to Kosmo, Jasin police chief Ahmad Jamil Radzi said the arrest was made after six police reports were made in the same evening about incidents of physical sexual abuse against six boys aged between 12 and 13.

He said the suspect was believed to have lured his victims by offering payment ranging from RM50 to RM100 to engage in indecent acts.

“The incidents were reported to have occurred from last September until early January,” he said.

Jamil said the suspect was remanded for seven days until Feb 13, with the case being investigated for sexual assault of a child under Sections 14(a)/15A(1)/15B(b) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
