It is learnt that the 33-year-old suspect, who is based at a station in Shah Alam, threatened the pair after he was investigated for suspected unauthorised possession of drugs under Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
The summary of the case, which was leaked on social media, mentioned that on Jan 8, the lance corporal threatened to take revenge on the other officers for his arrest, leading one of them to lodge the report out of fear for their safety.
Shuhaily confirmed the case, saying the suspect is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
“Nobody is above the law. Although they are policemen, they are liable under the law,” he said in a media conference at the Selangor police headquarters.
Separately, Shuhaily said police had foiled a burglary gang led by a 55-year-old woman. On Jan 3, they arrested six people including the woman and two Colombian men, aged 45 to 62.
The gang is believed to have been involved in at least 19 burglaries in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur with losses amounting to more than RM1.9 million.
The two Colombian men were arrested at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport and KLIA while waiting to regroup in Thailand before heading back to Colombia, Shuhaily said.
“They had been active since October 2023 after the woman recruited the Colombians. They would disguise themselves as courier service workers before breaking into luxury residences,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shuhaily said the police would not stop in their efforts to identify the suspects behind the murder of six-year-old Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin.
