Selangor deputy police chief S Sasikala Devi said the victim, 26, and the 44-year-old suspect had a short argument before he repeatedly stabbed her with a knife in a car park at Jalan Bayu Tinggi 5 at Taman Chi Liung.
She said the victim and the suspect had met at a restaurant in Jalan Bayu Tinggi 6, and went to the car park at Jalan Bayu Tinggi 5 after lunch.
“They had an argument during lunch. After that, they went back to the suspect’s car, where the woman was stabbed,” Sasikala said at a press conference.
So far, the police had recorded the statements from two witnesses.
Sasikala said the suspect had no criminal record and tested negative for drugs.
Yesterday, it was reported that the suspect had placed the woman in his car after stabbing her and drove to his house in Jalan Sungai Nibong 5, Kapar, where he stabbed himself with the same knife before police arrived and arrested him.
The suspect has been remanded until Dec 25 for investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Separately, Sasikala said four men, aged between 32 and 54, were nabbed at the Plus highway for allegedly trafficking 110 compressed lumps of dried cannabis leaves, estimated at 115.7kg and worth approximately RM358,899.
They were remanded for seven days until Dec 25.
