According to Berita Harian, the victim lodged a police report yesterday, claiming the senior officer subjected her to repeated sexual harassment.
Sarawak police commissioner Zainal Abdullah confirmed that a report was received and further investigations are under way.
“The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force on a person with the intent to outrage modesty,” he said.
The alleged incidents are believed to have begun last month after the female officer was assigned to the district police headquarters.
The victim also claimed she had been invited to the senior police officer’s residence before allegedly being sexually harassed there, and said similar incidents also took place at the workplace.
