PETALING JAYA:
A lucky draw winner has brought home a brand new apartment as the three-day Madani government’s anniversary programme drew its curtain at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil tonight.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the grand prize winner to be Nurain Shira Azaulmay, after he randomly selected a number from those who took part in the draw.

However, the 26-year-old prize winner was not present to receive the prize, Malaysiakini reported. The apartment was then received by an event official on her behalf.

The new RM260,000 three-bedroom apartment is located in Bandar Bukit Mahkota, Kajang, and is part of the 1Malaysia people’s housing scheme.

Among those who registered for the lucky draw today was Iskandar Chin Abdullah, 39. He told Bernama that if he won he would present the apartment to his parents, who have lived in a rented home in Seri Kembangan for a decade. “I’m still unable to afford a house for them,” he said.

Also hoping to win was Siti Nor Baya Sulaiman, 26, from Kajang, who learned of the lucky draw when visiting the PR1MA booth.
