Motorist who rammed into motorcyclist nabbed in Penang

The victim had earlier reprimanded the suspect for changing lanes without signalling.

Police have detained a man who allegedly threatened and rammed his car into a motorcyclist at a petrol station in Tasek Gelugor here yesterday.

Seberang Perai Utara police chief Asri Shafie said the 29-year-old unemployed man was detained in the Tasek Gelugor area at about 2pm today after a tip-off.

“He will be remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 427 (for causing mischief) and Section 506 (for criminal intimidation) of the Penal Code,” he said.

Earlier, Asri said a preliminary investigation found that the incident happened after the victim reprimanded the suspect for changing lanes without signalling.

A video recording of the incident went viral on social media and the victim was reported to have sustained leg injuries.
