Cops seek info on 4 siblings abandoned at district office guardhouse

The police are seeking information on four siblings, including a 10-month-old baby, who are believed to have been abandoned in front of the guardhouse at the Perak Tengah district council (MDPT) administrative complex here yesterday.

Perak Tengah district police chief Hafezul Helmi Hamzah said they received information about the incident from the district’s social welfare department (JKM) officer at around 5.39pm.

“Two boys, aged 11 and three, a 10-month-old baby boy, and a 6-year-old girl were found abandoned.

“When questioned, the 11-year-old boy claimed that they were kicked out of a house near Bota and driven to the complex in a car by an unidentified woman who left them at the location around 10.50am, with a plastic bag containing milk and disposable diapers,” he said in a statement here today.

According to Hafezul, the siblings have been sent to a shelter in Gopeng for safety and investigation purposes.

He said the police are still conducting further investigations to locate the children’s parents or guardians.

“Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact investigating officer Hanif Dzulkifli at 012-6477452.” he added.
