PETALING JAYA:
Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will be taking a break from his official duties to recuperate from his recent surgery.

In a Facebook post, Zahid thanked everyone who prayed for his health after he underwent the surgical procedure last Thursday.

“As advised by my doctors, I will be taking some time off to rest before I return to my duties. I wish to thank everyone again for their prayers and offering moral support,” the Bagan Datuk MP said.

However, Zahid, who is also rural and regional development minister and Umno president, did not disclose the type of surgery he had undergone.

On Sunday, Zahid’s daughter, Nurul Hidayah, said her father was in good health and recovering well after his surgery.

She added that the procedure was supposed to have been performed earlier but was put off due to time constraints and Zahid’s packed schedule.
