Nassuruddin claimed the state government was informed that the two assemblymen’s allocations could even be higher than what its executive councillors were receiving, Harian Metro reported.
“Currently, we have given (RM250,000) in development funds (to all assemblymen). We were then informed that the opposition assemblymen received even more funds from the federal government.
“So, if we give equally to all, it would be unfair to our own assemblymen, because they do not receive any allocation from the federal government,” he was quoted as saying.
Nassuruddin was replying to a question from Syahbuddin Hashim (BN-Galas) in the Kelantan state assembly today.
Syahbuddin and Dr Hafidzah Mustakim (PH-Kota Lama) are the only opposition assemblymen in Kelantan.
Nassuruddin said the situation might be different if Syahbuddin and Hafidzah were not receiving any allocations from Putrajaya.
“If that was the case, then we can discuss (giving equal allocations),” he said, according to the Malay daily.
