KUALA LUMPUR:
Police have received 37 reports on bomb threats made against schools nationwide, as of 2pm today, says Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain.

He said the threats, which turned out to be just a hoax, had been made against 28 international schools, seven private schools and two public schools.

Razarudin said the highest number of threats (15) were made against schools in Selangor, followed by Kuala Lumpur (six), Johor (six), Penang (three), Perak (two), Negeri Sembilan (two), Kedah (one), Sarawak (one) and Sabah (one).

“We have opened nine investigation papers on the threats,” he said.

Yesterday, Razarudin said the police had received multiple reports on bomb threats emailed to public and private schools nationwide.

He said the threats were sent through two email accounts using the name ‘taktstorer’, which translated to “disturber of peace” in German, from the email service provider beeble.com.
