Volunteer policewoman detained over insulting comment on Facebook

The Johor police chief says the woman was responding to a post about Madani, and later deleted her comment.

Johor police chief Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the comment referred to an individual and was believed to have offensive and outrageous motives.
JOHOR BAHRU:
A volunteer policewoman was detained last night over an insulting comment posted on Facebook in response to a question on the word Madani.

Johor police chief Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the comment was read by a senior police officer at 10.22pm yesterday, Bernama reported. The woman was detained at 10.58pm in Endau, Mersing.

The woman had responded to a question on a Facebook page which read: “Bila sebut Madani, apa yang terlintas di fikiran anda (When Madani is mentioned, what comes to your mind)?”

The woman is suspected of having written an insulting comment, which has since been deleted, believed to be directed at another person.

The comment was believed to have offensive and outrageous motives, Kamarul said.
