PETALING JAYA:
Lee Khai Loon, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for Machang Bubuk, is believed to have passed out while he was at the PKR service centre in the constituency earlier today.

A photo posted on his Facebook page shows a service centre staff attending to him as he is lying face down on the floor.

When contacted, Penang PKR deputy chief Bakhtiar Wan Chik told FMT that he had just spoken to Lee, who said he was just suffering from fatigue and was feeling better after getting some much-needed rest.

“It’s nothing serious. He will be at a fundraising dinner tonight as scheduled,” Bakhtiar said.

According to Bernama, Bakhtiar said Lee collapsed when he arrived at his service centre at around 11am after spending the whole morning on the campaign trail.

He said the hot weather may have also been a factor but added that Lee was not sent to the hospital and was just resting at home for now.

Meanwhile, his opponent from Perikatan Nasional (PN), Tan Hum Wei, wished him a speedy recovery, China Press reported.

Lee is facing Tan in a straight fight as he seeks to represent Machang Bubuk for a third consecutive term.
